Postcards, Postcards Everywhere

This summer, KOTUS worked with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lawrence and Topeka to keep our officials on their toes. B&GC of Lawrence sent dozens of postcards to Ryan Zinke asking him to leave the redwoods alone. And BG&C of Topeka wrote more than 100 postcards to Jerry Moran making sure he understands that kids’ futures are in his hands. They asked him to vote NO on S 1460 that pretends to be about energy independence but is really about drilling for fossil fuels. I hand-delivered the postcards to Senator Moran’s aide, Alex, who promised that Senator Moran would respond. I have not heard from him yet. Check out some of the postcards here.

KOTUS also teamed up with Lawrence’s own Sunrise Project providing members of the Sunrise Youth with the opportunity to send postcards to Mayor Leslie Soden thanking her for standing with the Paris Accord and asking her to make Lawrence a 100% clean energy city. Alas. Not many photos! But their postcards were terrific.
